One of the practice areas of the Capital Markets and Corporate Finance Practice Group involves the provision of legal services to issuers and underwriters during public offerings and private placements of securities, such as shares, deposit receipts, equity-linked bonds, straight bonds and notes, in the domestic and overseas capital markets. The areas of expertise with respect to corporate finance include the provision of legal advice on the structuring and regulatory issues pertaining to derivative transactions, structured finance transactions and financing by means of domestic/overseas investment vehicles. One of the most active areas of work for this division relates to domestic/overseas asset-backed securitization transactions, notably in relation to various non-performing assets of Korean financial institutions.
